Emotional distress is a sign of psychological problems and an indication of the need for help.  Working with a counselor will help resolve problems more quickly, but finding the right professional can be challenging.  I work with clients to make this difficult decision as smooth as possible.  First, through an initial consultation at a reduced rate to ensure that my approach is a good fit and then by using strategic planning methods to make the counseling process efficient.

With thoughtful consideration of all components of personality, I offer insight into disordered emotions and teach mechanisms for change.  Psychological wounds can be healed by identifying destructive thought patterns and using intellect and will to gain clarity, purpose, joy and peace.

Individualized goals address the change needed in the soul, mind and body:

SOUL

The soul is the source of human nature and should be a central consideration in striving to attain meaning and happiness.  Our spiritual nature must be integrated in the healing process.

MIND

A rational approach that provides an understanding of perceptions, thoughts, emotions, intellect and will is key to long term change.  Incorporating therapeutic techniques with ancient philosophical perspectives provides an ideal framework for insight and personal growth.

 BODY

As a health care social worker for 20 plus years, I understand the connection between psychology and physiology (mind and body) and the importance of  a comprehensive approach that assists clients in modifying their physical, emotional, behavioral and social habits.
