A bit more on background:

My approach incorporates 30 plus years of direct counseling experiences with knowledge from my work as a medical social worker, strategic planner and trainer. These skills, along with a passion for learning the timeless insights of philosophers, such as Aristotle and Thomas Aquinas, provide a unique foundation for therapy where ancient wisdom brings novel shifts in thinking and responding.
I initially worked in the health care industry, first as a clinical social worker and later as a case manager, supervisor and educator in acute, sub-acute, rehabilitation and home settings. After 15 plus years in health care, I transitioned into the insurance industry, where I coordinated training and employee development programs. After Hurricane Katrina, I worked for a US Senator as a liaison for community development where I was able to apply clinical experiences and administrative/planning skills to assist communities throughout Louisiana.

Since 2013, I have worked as a consultant on a project-specific basis for several entities, primarily nonprofits, providing education and project management. At the same time, I have enjoyed providing direct counseling/clinical social work services to clients.

In recent years, I have focused on applying a Thomistic philosophical-psychological approach in direct counseling and seen the effectiveness of this method in helping clients struggling with emotional and spiritual issues. I was privileged to have learned this unique methodology from Dr. Patrick DiVietri, a former adjunct professor at Christendom College and Mount St. Mary’s Seminary, who distilled the works of Fr. Chad Ripperger into a reasonable and useful approach for counseling.
I now teach Thomistic Psychology to others, primarily mental health professionals, and also provide training to case managers in the Liber Christo method.

Colleagues and clients know me as a creative thinker who works to resolve problems and manage obstacles. In my work as a consultant as well as a counselor, I spend time trying to understand needs, by listening and gathering information, before offering ideas and helping identify a course of action.
